Board Meeting Highlights

We need your help. Some homeowners have been placing signs on stakes in the common area. We are asking that you do not do this as there are irrigation lines underground which could be damaged, causing the Association to incur costly repair charges. If you place a sign please use a box or *A* frame as any other type of sign will be removed. Also, please remove your sign after your event. Thank you for your help.

In addition, homeowners need to get permission from their neighbors before any work is started on common fences. It would be a good idea to get written permission Homeowners need to submit a request to the ARC if they will be changing the height of the fence or changing it to block. If they will be replacing it with the same type of wooden fence, there is no need for them to submit a request. Finally, the board has scheduled the Neighborhood Yard Sale for October 7th and 8th.

September Board Meeting

The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled on September 22, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fountains. If you plan to come and have a specific concern please contact VPM prior to attending the meeting. Homeowners are encouraged to attend and get involved in their community!

Medical Alert

Dehydration in Children-Medical Alert

by Patricia Garza-littlebytesnews.com

Parents need to be aware of the signs and symptoms of dehydration in their children. Of course prevention is key to this dangerous and sometimes deadly ailment. You hear stories on the news all the time about sports players falling to their death on the football field or basketball court without always knowing what may have caused it. In many cases dehydration or other unknown cardiovascular diseases are usually the culprits.

As parents, we must make ourselves aware and be able to answer the questions we are most concerned about before sending our children outside to play. During the summer months this is especially important, but now that school is also back in session and many children will be trying out for sports we need to prepare them for physical activity by hydrating them properly. If you live in a dry and hot climate you may not feel as thirsty as you are just because you don't feel sweaty, while those who live in hot and humid climates may not feel thirsty just because they feel sweaty. Regardless of climate conditions keeping hydrated will keep your child and family healthy and alive.
